DON'T PUMP GAS MAY 15th

Don't pump gas on may 15th

..in April 1997, there was a "gas out" conducted nationwide in protest of gas prices. Gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon overnight.

On May 15th 2007, all internet users are to not go to a gas station in protest of high gas prices. Gas is now over $3.00 a gallon in most places.

There are 73,000,000+ American members currently on the internet network, and the average car takes about 30 to 50 dollars to fill up.

If all users did not go to the pump on the 15th, it would take

$2,292,000,000.00 (that's almost 3 BILLION) out of the oil companies pockets for just one day, so please do not go to the gas station on May 15th and let's try to put a dent in the Middle Eastern oil industry for at least one day.

I say definitely do this. I am so sick of paying higher gas prices all the time. We are at around $3.03 for REGULAR! How ridiculous is that? Also, just about a month or two ago it was only $2.49 or so, when Spring Break hit, they raised it by around 20-30 cents a gallon. As soon as Spring Break was over (I can only tell this by the thinner traffic lol) the gas went back down now BOOM up it is again. What is it they pay in the oil countries? They pay somthing like $0.20 cents per gallon? Give me a break. DON'T PUMP GAS ON MAY 15TH!! And don't buy it on the 14th either, fill your tank up at a time where you will be able to go without filling up betweenthe 13th and the 17th. They are expecting to have people filling up the day before or the day after, so then it really doesn't hurt them much does it? Go for a little longer period of time...... let that smack them around a bit (metaphorically of course)

LOL- this could be fun. You have to remember that there's almost $.50 a gallon in taxes on gas too but still when I got my car (less than 10 years ago) gas was less than $1 a gallon. This is just ridiculous. I'll pass the word along.

Gas prices are ridiculous right now! I hope that the gas-strike IS successful and will hurt those oil people!

Not buying gas on one day will not affect the gas companies one whit. You STILL have to buy gas whether it be before or after the 15th. The best way is NOT TO USE SO MUCH. If we could get the SUV's and Hummer's off the roads it would help a lot. Unfortunately, those who can afford Hummers and gas-guzzlers can also afford the gas hikes.

Well, gee I guess then it's a good thing I drive a Ford Focus. I only get stuck paying $35 a week for gas. If you don't buy gas for those few days then the gas sits in their stations, which means that they don't need the deliveries as much which means that the gas companies don't get to make as much in sales that week. Does that make it easier to understand anonymous? Please don't yell on my blog.
