I knew I smelled a Freebie

.... kinda like "I tawt I taw a puddy tat" LOL OK, well my Mom is gone. She has been since January 1995, she was very young - 48 -and to tell the truth we didn't have the best of relationships. Despite this, when a parent is gone, there are always things which will stick in your mind to remind you of better times together. Certain things like smells can bring up a whole bunch of memories. One of my favorites was her apple pie. The recipe was from my Nana (with whom I had a wonderful relationship) but when Mom made an apple pie, I kinda knew that at that moment she was in affectionate mode and I would milk it for all it was worth. Anyway, that said, I made a kit that reminds me of her and wanted to share it with all of you. It's almost 70 megs and I have made it around "Apple Pie" There are pie tin clips, apple pie filling backgrounds, and other little goodies to help you create an Apple Pie layout. There is even a little Apple Napkin to wipe your mouth with when you are done ;) I hope you enjoy it. PLEASE remember, no file sharing, if you want someone to have this kit, please send them here to my Blog to download it. It's for personal use only ;) I don't usually ask, but I would love to see any layouts you might make with this kit. If you want to download this kit, just click on the image to begin your download. Also, please remember to leave a little love when you download your freebies, from me or anyone else ;)

Terrell, this kit is really nice, and I'm with you on the apple pie thing. I remember my mother baking even cooking..but she loved to back, and from scratch, none of this box stuff! Boy! The good o'le days, how I too, miss them. My mother passed when I was 10. so I know what you mean about missing her or not getting to say all the things you wanted to. I would have loved to shared my child births with her...just once...you know?

Anyway, Have a great MOTHER'S day...and email me...I have a Question for you :)

I was looking for something with apples to make a 50th wedding anniversary scrapbook for my in-laws who own and farm their own apple orchard--this is PERFECT!! Thanks!

I know what you mean about certain smells - and aren't recipes from Grandmothers just the best!

Thanks so much for the freebie - it is really lovely.

Thanks for sharing this beautiful kit...and the inspiration behind it. I sure can relate! My Mom has been gone ten years now and not a day goes by that I don't miss her AND her pies! Every year for my birthday, she would bake me a peanut butter pie since I didn't like cake, and her apple crumb still makes my mouth water just thinking about it! Again, thanks for sharing.

Good or bad, it's obvious you have some memories of your mom to cherish. This is a great kit. How long do you plan on having it available? I'm on dial up and only have a chance once a month to download files over 10 megs.

What a wonderful tribute to your Mom. I lost mine in 1992 and this will be great for a tribute to her also. Thank you for sharing your talent.

I love your mothers day kit. I might use it to scrapbook some of my moms recipes possibly. So sorry to hear that you lost your mom. That must be hard. Me and my mom don't have the best of relationships at times even though it's gotten better with age. She still treats me like a kid even though I'm 38 but not so much anymore. I think the fact that I'm getting married now changed it a little. But I would hate it she were gone. When push comes to shove she is really my best friend. So I am very sorry to hear that you lost yours. This kit is truly a great tribute. Thank you for sharing it.
