New Item in the store

I am calling this line "Baker's Dozen" There will be 13 items in each package and will be available for both personal and commercial use. This first set of sunflowers comes in brilliant colors and the two lighter flowers can be dyed very simply. I was playing with them alot last night lol. I came up with some very funky and quite beautiful color combinations. I hope you have fun with them! They are available in my HODS store and should be available at DSC in the next few days!

Remember today is the last day of my 20% off sale at HODS so if you haven't gotten those items on your wishlist yet, you might want to now ;)

Whoopsie

Wow, I just got through complaining about the number of comments left for freebies on my blog right? So here I was this morning, making my rounds, reading some of my favorite blogs and downloading some of the wonderful freebies. I only download a few now because frankly I don't have the time and alot of stuff I can just make myself. But I LOVE to see what people create, love to stumble across that one thing or kit that makes me say "WOW I wish I had thought of that!" Anyway, I digress. I was in the middle of downloading and was just about to leave a comment when BOOM -- BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH. After several expletives and banging my head on my desk I contemplated throwing the whole thing out of the window. Alex reassured me though that it could just be that something hiccuped or could be a stick of memory is starting to go bad or that it just overheated. So now, sometimes over the next couple of days and providing I don't get another blue screen of death I will have to remove the case of my tower and vacum it all out. I usually vacum the outside of it along the seams and in the front but it might just be time for a good vacuming. Better than the whole thing going balistic on me and losing a ton of data. Of course if one of my memory sticks is kicking the bucket this won't stop it lol. At least it will make me feel better lol.

We have gotten Charles re-enrolled for June Classes on Virtual School but am trying to wait and find out what I need to do about Social Studies. Even though he got booted from the class, he got an A. Now I don't know if he can move on or if he has to repeat that course. Or the second semester of that course. I swear if he doesn't stay on task this time I am going to do ........ something.... I don't know what, but I am going to do something lol.

Alex and I have been discussing moving, the kids heard that (nosy buggers have ears like radar) and ran with it and started telling people we ARE moving. Sigh... why can't they just stay out of stuff? We were toying with the idea of moving out of state, maybe someplace nice and quiet away from hustle and bustle. I don't mind it myself really. I grew up in Brooklyn so the noise doesn't bother me really. But we want what's best for the kids. Of course to say that we want to move where there are no gangs and no crime is really unrealistic, you will get that no matter where you live but less action like that would be nice. And I do miss having my own house and yard, someplace big enough to have family parties and holidays (you saw the size of my family parties right? lol) Oh well, nothing will happen right now anyway, but we're looking.

OK going to go and try to figure out where I was downloading from at the time of the Blue Screen of Death so I can leave a comment. Then it's off to work on a few more kits and what not ;) Maybe another freebie is coming, I'm not sure. I came across a few things last night and was contemplating between new kit or freebie lol.

Have a good one!

Some new layouts and some yada yada lol

I wanted to start scrapping some of the photos from the party this past weekend. I used my new Shannen Mini Pagekit (as well as the freebie add-on pack available one post down) for this first one:

For this double layout I used Dreamland Pagekit by Mama Moose. I used the AV Bros page curl to turn the pages on the inside so that it looked like an open book. By the time I added the placeholder ribbons the effect got pretty much lost. I still think it came out rather nicely though ;)

I used "A Day at the Beach" papers and the Nickel Alpha by Laura Pitman to scrap a couple more photos from the beach ;)

So I have been putting together some packages for a new line which I will be calling "Bakers Dozen" There will be 13 elements/items in each package and they will be available for both personal and commercial use. I am starting with flowers. The first package should be up soon so be sure to be on the lookout for them ok?

Did you see HOUSE last night? Holy Moley, all 3 of his interns are gone? I bet the three interns he takes will be the three who answered him in the hall. Especially the wise butt blonde that said "tainted botox" (or something to that effect) and then, of course maybe the nerdy guy who seemed afraid of his own shadow and the other girl with the dark hair. Any other takers on this bet? LOL. BOSTON LEGAL, sigh, ya know for a little bit there I really thought that Denny was loosing control, that all of his brain cells hadn't made it to the assembly line, that he had dropped his basket, lost his marbles, was waiting for the cupcake wagon to bring him his cream filling, but he pulled it off! I love that show and the combination of Spader & Shatner is just unbeatable. I can't believe all of my shows have already had their season finales that really stinks lol. I mean it's a good chance to get caught up on some of the ones we may have missed but I want to see NEW ONES! Sigh oh well.

Freebie Time

Yeah so, I know, over 1200 downloads for my last freebie and only 45 comments. I said I wasn't sure if I was going to post anymore freebies, but I'm like an addict, I just can't help it. So here, for your perusal is a little bonus download. Included are 2 journal vellums, 1 set of stitches, a set of criss crossed staples and 1 frame. Hope you enjoy it! As always PLEASE don't share files. Send people here to my blog to download it and as always leaving a little LOVE won't hurt..... I promise ;)

I had to do it.....

I just couldn't go and let my nieces engagement go by without making a kit for her lol. She loved the layout I did (which makes me ecstatic lol) she should flip over the kit lol. So here it is. It is up at my HODS Store and should be up at DSC in a bit ;)

I have been uploading all of my photos to my google account so I can use them on Picassa. what a PITA. Not them, the process is very simple, it's just sorting through and getting them all together and stuff. But I like the end result. Now I also found out that Yahoo is closing their photos section so I will need to remove/move all of my photos from there. BIG SIGH. Looks like loads of fun for me. Oh and speaking of loads, I still need to do more laundry. Gotta go lol

Oh what a night......

late December back in 63. Oh ....no wait.... that's not right. Sorry got carried away. LOL. ANYWAY, we went to that 80th birthday party last night and had a nice time. It was a little different because it was held in a Crab House instead of at someone's home. Usually it's at a house with a DJ and we are all crazy in private. Last night we were on display lol. Oh well, we never claimed to be sane. So yes I believe Arline was genuinely surprised (as her birthday isn't until June lol)and she had a good time. Here is a sneak peak at our festivities last night. (There is a special LO at the bottom of this post with an announcement)

Arline and her cake:

Just the grandkids:

And a huge chunk of the family ;)

There was a little surprise last night as well. We didn't break out the camera in time to get the beginning which really upset me but I am hoping someone else got it and they will send me a copy. Ryan did this on bended knee and all. It was so sweet. He asked my niece, Shannen to marry him ;) So it looks like our family is getting bigger still!

It was an eventful fun-filled night ;) And these old bones are pooped lol.

New layouts so far today

Well, I managed to get three layouts done so far today. I really wanted to get more but my children have lost their minds and I had to play screaming referee. Argh, they really aren't acting bad just bouncing off the walls today more than normal and making us nuts in the process. So, onto the layouts.

This first LO I did with my Nostalgia Collection available at HODS and DSC:

These next two layouts I did using Have a Heart by Carla Ware available at 3Scrapateers.

Well, I gotta get ready now, I still don't know what I am wearing and I need to take my shower and stuff sooooooo. Sigh I am really not in the mood for this.

Have a great day!

Another one for my store ;)

Floral Antiquities now available at my store at HODS. Soon to be available at DSC:

I am working on about 3 more kits and a few more additions to my Amore and Romance collections. Am going cross eyed today lol. Tomorrow we have the birthday party to go to so I will probably spend the rest of the day scrapping. I consider this a down day lol. Should be able to get a decent amount of photos scrapped, I hope. then of course, we will end up taking more photos tomorrow so I won't actually get ahead on scrapping will I? Oh well, should be fun anyway.

TFL and have a great night!

ROFLMBO

Wow what a great way to start the day. Well for me not for my DS.

He loves to torment his younger brother, just to mess with him. So when my youngest DS was going out this morning the oldest chased him to make like he was going to bring him back in the house. We were still in our bedroom. Next thing I hear is silence and then boom boom boom on the front door. Not only did he chase his brother out of the house with the cordless phone in his hand but he forgot to make sure the door was unlocked. Now for the kicker.............. he was only wearing his boxers!! I was going to grab the camera but he was banging so hard I didn't want the neighbors having fits lol.

I just love starting the day with a good laugh, don't you?

Wow, that's disheartening

I just checked the number of downloads for my baseball kit which I posted two days ago. There were 1,120 downloads! That makes me so happy! I am really glad that people liked it. There were 34 comments left :( That makes me sad. Actually, it's more like, it ticks me off. I know that sometimes you forget, get distracted.... whatever but I don't think THAT many people just forgot or said ooops. Since I host my own downloads I can tell where the person came from so I know that the links haven't been passed out. All the downloads came from my blog so it's not even piracy. Don't know if I will be posting anymore freebies anytime soon.

HODS CT CALL

Come join the fun with us over at HODS!

Wow it's Friday

I can't believe how fast the week has gone already! Alex had an interview today that seemed to have gone very well ;) Keep your fingers crossed for us ok? As for me, both the boys were home today so you know my head is spinning lol. One can't wait to go out and the other can't wait to find another opportunity to drive the smaller one insane lol. I STILL have not gotten to decorate my little purse box.... sigh, but that's ok I have come up with a couple of ideas for the box and my desk so maybe it's a good thing I didn't get to it yet.

This weekend we are going to Tequesta for an 80th birthday party. It means we will be around the family which hasn't happned since Christmas. This should be interesting. Looonngggg story. Not even going to get into it but for the most part we will be happy to see most of them. KWIM? If you have family, I am sure you understand.

I have added another poll so please be sure to vote for your favorite and let me know what you want.

My head is pounding

allergies are kicking my butt, so I guess they got me coming and going. Oh well, I wanted to put up a couple of layouts which I did. I am making a Scrapbook for Alex as well as my Dad for Father's Day and I really wanted to get some of the pages together. My oldest DS is hiding the pages in his room so Alex doesn't find them lol. Hope he doesn't check my blog today ACK!! LOL.

The first LO I did using my new Girly Denim kit which is available at HODS:

The next two I made with Carla Ware's new kit CHERISH available at 3Scrapateers:

She is hosting the Half and Half Crop tonight at 10 PM EST at 3Scrapateers so you should drop by, say hi and have some fun! I am going to make this short so I can get dinner ready and rest up so I feel better for tonight! Have a great day!

Monday, May 21, 2007

OK, don't tell me nothing is going on.

Have you all seen the Day after Tomorrow? Ya know, ice breaks off, hurricanes and tornadoes and tsunamis run amuck. End of the world etc? Well here ya go people. Just a few days ago there was a huge piece of ice which broke off that was bigger than California, a few months ago I posted an article about that Dinosaur Shark they found and now here's a giant squid they actually caught on February 22 of this year:

I got the photo from Metro.uk and the link is in the photo so you can go to the site and read the article. It weighs over 900 lbs and was 33 feet long! (Calamari for a year lol)

All of the photos here have links to the article that I got them from. They should open in a new window when you click on them. I started doing this post and got carried away lol.

This one I got from Cryptomundo, which I guess is kinda iffy but still worth a look see. I actually then found it at Underwater Times as well. It's from December 22, 2006:

Found in Florida:

ALSO found in Florida:

This is the photo of the link I had posted here a couple of months ago. You can still get the video of this shark too although it died only hours after it was captured and put on display.

And here's another odd "Living Fossil":

And hey, how's this for evolution?

Now I know that (mostly) these things have existed, it's no surprise but usually all of these "critters" which have begun mysteriously poppping up all over are extremely subterranean. They usually lie miles below in the oceans, all of a sudden POOF... hello, look at me. Am I the only one that finds this odd? Ominous, forboding, forshadowing at it's finest?

Think I am going to cut my losses

I just cannot seem to get digitally motivated today. My head is all over the place and I have a ton of stuff that needs to be done and finished up here in the house. I am going to close my programs and just do what I need to do here. And maybe take over the tv during the day for once too. I just told Alex he is going to get usurped lol. I just can't focus and I hate trying to force it. I have a great new kit from Carla Ware that I need to use for a couple of layouts but I need to find and scan the photos for it. So it will be a sort of down day for me, for the rest of the day. Oh and I need to get my stew cooking, still trying to defrost the meat. I am in the mood for some beef stew with dumplings! Yummy! Have a good day all!

This weekend....

was kinda wierd lol. Even for me. I don't know how anything can feel so long and so short at the same time? Like I said, wierd lol. I got a bunch done on my new baseball kit but then wasn't happy with some of it so I dumped those parts. LOL. I was busy trying to upload to our new gallery at HODS and keep up on my Sketch Challenge over at DSC. Then I didn't feel like doing anything so I kinda just putzed around on the internet half of the weekend. Yesterday though I did something that made Alex happy. He feels that I never get out of the house (which is true) so yesterday, after my plant got knocked over with a simple gust of wind and spilled dirt all over, we took a jaunt over to Home Depot and got some potting soil and a few new little plants. One marigold (they are great for keeping ants and such away) and three other flowers (I can't remember the names lol will take pics later) and also one sweet basil and cherry tomato plant. When we had our house my basil would grow 4 feet high, no lie. I love fresh basil, not only does it taste good but it smells so wonderful.

Then we went over to Michaels and I hit clearance (my favorite word lol) I managed to get a wooden purse, two letter T's (also wood) a purple metallic marker and some other goodies for $9. Not bad. I am going to turn that little purse into a Pencil holder, hopefully tonight.

I also did a few more layouts, one with my upcoming baseball kit.

I talked to my Popi who was out fishing and had gotten a 5lb bass only minutes before I called him lol. He was happy. Johnathan "dismantled" his stereo (already broken) and the vcr (also already broken) He made a gallery to show us how each part worked, it was a hands on, interactive display lol.

The dryer is still broken so there are still clothes hanging up all around our house. UGH what a pita, but at least my washer still works (watch now I just jinxed it lol)

Oh well, off to the store and to finish up my kit so I can get it out to all of you ;)

Have a great day!

Layouts this week

Here is the LO I made for the Quote Challenge over at HODS with the freebie ribbons (in previous post) and the kit Flowers and Vines:

Here are more Layouts I did this past week. I have just been all over the place lol.

Grandma's Love by Carla Ware available at 3Scrapateers:

Midsummer Blues by Lynne Simmons available at Digi Scrap Central :

Boy'Ond by Kristmess - Digi Scrap Central :

I LOVE these kits! There will be more layouts to come in another day or two.

Flowers and Vines Bonus Freebie

I was doing a layout for a Quote Challenge and was using my Flowers and Vines Kit when I realized that I hadn't put any ribbons in the kit! ACK I LOVE ribbons. So what I decided to do after making a couple is give them to you. It's my way of saying "Ooopsie" lol sorry. Please remember to leave a little LOVE if you do decide to download these. Also NO FILE SHARING please. There has been an awful lot of Piracy going on lately and it's very unsettling. Please send people here to download the files for themselves ;)

As always, just click on the image to start your download ;)
